Cappadocia is located in central Anatolia and has historical importance. Christian sources mention Cappadocia throughout history. Cappadocians were occupying a large area in the region from Mount Taurus to The Black Sea in the time of Herodotus. Cappadocia’s highlights are the unique Fairy Chimneys.
Ancient Greek city of Ephesus is located in the Aegean Region of the western Turkey. Built in the 10th century BC, Ephesus was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League in Classical Greek times. After the city came under the control of Roman Empire, it became more important being the 3rd largest Roman city in Asia Minor. Also Ephesus is one of the Seven Churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation. Some of the highlights of Ephesus are The Library of Celsus, The Gate of Augustus, Basilica of St. John and The Temple of Artemis.
Meaning “Cotton Castle” in Turkish, Pamukkale is a natural touristic site with beautiful white terraces and ancient city of Hierapolis. There are 17 hot water springs in Pamukkale which feed the travertines. The place was used as a health center for thousands of years. Hierapolis antique city is located on top of Pamukkale. It became a host to Greek and Roman populations in the past. There are several natural and historical highlights to visit in Pamukkale including; Travertines, Cleopatra Pool, The Amphitheater, Martyrium of Apostle Philip, Domitian Gate, Necropolis and The Temple of Apollo.
First day of the tour covers the Northern Cappadocia. You will be picked up from your hotel in Istanbul in the early morning. After the airport transfer you’ll take your flight to Cappadocia. When you arrive Cappadocia, you’ll be taken to one of the cave hotels to leave your belongings. After that, your Cappadocia (Northern) tour will begin with a small group and a professional guide. Goreme National Park is your first destination in Cappadocia. The craft of nature showcase some of the most interesting rock structures and sanctuaries. Next is Devrent Valley with red colored lunar landscape.Kizilirmak (Red River) and the old city of Avanos is your next destination before you visit mushroom shaped Fairy Chimneys in the Monk’s Valley, Pasabag. Also cut-rock houses and churches in Cavusin Village are places to see in the first day. Breakfast and lunch is included in the tour for four days. After the tour you are free to roam Cappadocia and you’ll spend the night at the hotel.
Second day of the tour is devoted to Southern Cappadocia. You’ll have your breakfast at the hotel and at 09:30 you’ll be taken from your hotel to begin the tour. Places to visit in the second day arePigeon Valley (Guvercinlik) and handcrafted caves, large underground cities of Derinkuyu(Kaymakli), rose colored rocks of Rose Valley (these rocks change color in times of day), cave tunnels, houses and churches. At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred to airport to take your flight to Izmir. When you arrive Izmir, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Kusadasi to spend the night.
After the breakfast at 09:00, you will be picked up to join Ephesus tour. Your tour guide will show you important locations in this historical Greek city including The Temple of Artemis (one of the seven wonders of the world), The Temple of Hadrian, The Library of Celsus, The Theater and The Baths. The House of Virgin Mary where Mary had spent her last days is also included in Ephesus Tour. At the end of the tour you’ll be transferred to Izmir Airport to take your flight to Istanbul. You will be transferred back to your hotel in Istanbul and this concludes the whole tour.
